Abstract

Over the past several decades, society has strongly benefited from free and open-source software. Recent developments have now also opened the door for democratizing integrated circuit (IC) design, enabling open collaboration in a field that was previously limited by non-disclosure agreements and siloed development efforts. In my presentation, I will provide an overview of this exciting new movement and will discuss the new possibilities that it will enable in education and research.
